Safe Neighborhoods in Northern Virginia & D.C.: Find Area Crime Statistics Online

Safety First -- Homebuyers Want Safe Neighborhoods -- Find out Where to Live

What's one of the top criteria for choosing a home?  You've heard it before:  LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.  Anyone can tell you that.  One of the things I hear most often from clients is that they want to be in a safe neighborhood.

Today's Washington Post real estate section has an article which provides information on where buyers can research neighborhoods to find out about crime statistics.  I will list these below as well as others that I have researched to assist blog readers in locating neighborhoods with less crime where you can feel comfortable purchasing your new home.

Here are some links for finding out about crime statistics in the D.C. and Northern Virginia area:

District of Columbia:  crime mapping and crime statistics information.

Fairfax County: crime information and incident mapping

Arlington County:  police department crime statistics

Alexandria City: crime reports and incidents charts

Falls Church City:  police department crime reports

Loudoun County:  daily crime reports
